POTTERS AUCTION SALEROOM - Rare Jimi Hendrix Autograph Found in Old Signature Book

A recent discovery has stirred excitement within the collector's community as a rare Jimi Hendrix autograph was uncovered by John Hicks in an old autograph book that once belonged to his wife, Shirley. The intriguing find originated when Mr. Hicks stumbled upon the book while clearing out his attic.

Shirley, now known for being the possessor of this prized autograph, acquired the signature at the youthful age of 15 during a concert in Lincoln, over fifty years ago. The autograph book serves as a time capsule, showcasing signatures and heartfelt messages from friends, with a remarkable addition of 'Love always and forever, Jimi Hendrix'.

To authenticate the precious find, Mr. Hicks diligently cross-referenced the signature with validated samples of Hendrix's autograph. The notable signing took place during the Walker Brothers UK Tour at the ABC Cinema in Lincoln back in 1967. Notably, the signature book houses autographs from other renowned figures from the tour, including The Californians, Engelbert Humperdinck, Cat Stevens, and of course, Hendrix.

Paul, expressed his admiration for the rarity of the find, remarking on the humble beginnings of some autographs in the book compared to the highly coveted Hendrix signature. The autograph industry has seen Walker Brothers' autographs fetch sums of under one hundred pounds, whereas Hendrix's autograph, especially from the early stages of his illustrious career, is expected to command a significant four-figure sum.

The Jimi Hendrix autograph is to be auctioned on the 23rd of February, promising an exciting opportunity for collectors and enthusiasts alike to bid on this extraordinary piece of music history.
